I'm sorry you're experiencing this. ❤️ Anxiety can be exhausting, especially when it begins to interfere with your sleep. Sometimes, anxiety and lack of sleep create a cycle where worrying makes it difficult to rest, and not getting enough rest makes the anxiety feel even more overwhelming.

The first step is to understand what might be contributing to your anxiety. Are there particular thoughts, situations, or worries that keep coming up, especially at night?

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:

  1. Practice grounding techniques: When you feel overwhelmed, try taking slow, gentle breaths or using the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique to bring your attention back to the present.
  2. Create a consistent sleep routine: Try going to bed and waking up at similar times, reducing screen time before bed, and limiting caffeine later in the day.
  3. Give your worries some space: Writing down your thoughts earlier in the evening can help you identify what's troubling you rather than trying to resolve everything when you're supposed to be resting.
  4. Be compassionate with yourself: You don't have to solve everything at once. Start with small, manageable steps.

If your anxiety and sleep difficulties have been persistent, working with a mental health professional can help you identify underlying triggers and develop healthier ways of responding to anxious thoughts. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), for example, can be particularly helpful.

I'd also love to understand: How long have you been experiencing this anxiety, and do you find that it gets worse at night or throughout the day?

You don't have to navigate this alone. ❤️

If you'd like additional support, I encourage you to book a session with a therapist through Humura Therapy. Together, we can explore what's contributing to your anxiety and develop practical strategies to help you feel more at ease and improve your sleep.
