How do I deal with anxiety, mood swings and stress?

I find myself literally not able to carry out even the simplest tasks, at times I just look on. I easily get agitated over the slightest inconvenience. I find it hard to regulate stress and can't easily relate with others. I try so much to isolate myself.

I hear you, and I want to acknowledge how difficult it must be to feel this way. It’s understandable to struggle with anxiety, mood swings, and stress, especially when they start to interfere with daily tasks and relationships. Feeling overwhelmed and stuck is not a sign of weakness—it’s a signal that your mind and body are carrying a lot. Your emotions are valid, and recognizing them is the first step toward finding relief.

It’s completely normal to feel like you’re not making progress or that things are too heavy to manage. Many people go through moments where even simple tasks feel insurmountable, and irritation at small inconveniences can be a sign that your mind is under too much pressure. This doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you need support, self-compassion, and perhaps a new way of handling what’s happening inside you. Isolating yourself may feel like the only way to cope, but it often reinforces the distress rather than easing it.

Even though you may not feel it right now, you have strengths. You’ve recognized that something isn’t right, and you’re seeking ways to manage it. That in itself is progress. You are not stuck forever, and you are capable of change. Try to remind yourself of times when you’ve faced difficulties before and how you got through them. Small steps—like breaking tasks into manageable pieces, practicing grounding techniques, or simply allowing yourself to rest—can make a difference over time.

Therapy, self-care, and support systems take time to show results, but they do work. Healing is not linear, and it’s okay to have setbacks. Keep being patient with yourself, and don’t hesitate to reach out for support when needed. Seeking help, whether through professional counseling, close friends, or mindfulness techniques, is a sign of strength. You deserve to feel better, and I truly believe you have the ability to find balance again.

If you are currently feeling suicidal or are in crisis, call 911 or proceed to your local emergency room.
